What this guide is
calgarycasinoca.com is an independent guide to nine casinos in and around Calgary, Alberta, out to Kananaskis. It is not a casino. It has no connection to the venues it describes.
The guide focuses on the daytime visit: when the doors open, how the morning runs, and how to reach each place without a car where that is possible. Notes on online play in Alberta are on a separate page and cover only what the province's own bodies state.
Why it exists
The details a visitor needs before setting out are scattered. Floor hours, poker room hours, parking and transit notes sit on different pages of different sites, and outside listings often disagree with the venues themselves. This guide collects them in one place, venue by venue. Readers can compare openings on Morning hours or plan a trip on Without a car.
When a venue publishes a figure, the guide uses it. When sources conflict, or a detail could not be confirmed, the guide says so and points to the venue's own site. The approach is set out in Field method. The notes were last checked in October 2026. Hours change, so it is worth confirming with the venue before going.
Who writes it
Nadia Brandt is the name this guide is written under: a pen name. The woman in the paintings on the site is a character made for the guide, and the pictures of her are AI-generated illustrations, not portraits of a real person.
The gouache paintings on the venue pages are generated illustrations, not photographs, though some paint the real place from photographs, without visitors. These show ACE Casino Airport's table games room and The Kitchen, ACE Casino Blackfoot's arched street wall and the Deerfoot Inn lounge. Century Downs' building and track and the Grey Eagle and Stoney Nakoda hotels appear too, all at slightly shifted angles and hours. Notes for Elbow River Casino, Cowboys Casino and PURE Casino Calgary show the surrounding streets and river instead.
Nadia is not employed by any casino or by AGLC, and she does not speak for either. Nadia writes and checks every note on the site. Her page explains how the notes are checked.
Grey Eagle, Stoney Nakoda and their Nations
Grey Eagle Resort & Casino belongs to and is run by the Tsuut'ina Nation, whose reserve meets the southwestern edge of Calgary's city limits. For the Nation's history in its own words, the guide refers readers to tsuutina.com.
Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino stands on Treaty 7 territory, on reserve land of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation at Mînî Thnî (Morley). It is a Host First Nation casino, one of six in Alberta, and its designated licensed charity is the Mini Thni Foundation. For the Nation's own words about the Iyarhe Nakoda, the original peoples of the mountains, the guide refers readers to the resort's About page.
