Round-the-clock floors and later tables
A 24-hour floor does not mean every game runs around the clock. At PURE Casino Calgary and Grey Eagle the slots never close, but live table games keep set hours. At PURE, tables open at noon on weekdays and 10 AM on weekends, while at Grey Eagle they open at 10 AM every day. Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino does not run around the clock, and its tables start well after its slots. Slots open at 10 AM and table games at 2 PM, every day of the week.
Poker rooms follow their own schedules. Cowboys, PURE, ACE Casino Airport and the Deerfoot Inn each publish a 24-hour poker room. At Elbow River early in the week, the poker room's doors open at 10 AM, and from Thursday to Saturday it runs around the clock.
Cowboys Casino opens its slots at 10 AM, while its live tables are open every day between 12 PM and 3 AM. For the remaining venues, this guide has no published table-game hours, so visitors who want a table early should check the venue's site or call ahead. Food before noon
Several venues publish dining hours that start early. The Deerfoot Inn's Mohave Grill opens at 7 AM, and PURE's Meridian Central Restaurant at 9:30 AM. At ACE Casino Blackfoot, The Kitchen opens at 9 AM and Center Bar at 10 AM. At Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino, The Ridge opens at 8 AM every day and serves breakfast until 11 AM. Other outlets publish their own hours on each venue's site.
Planning a daytime visit
A daytime visit is easier to plan when you settle a few things before you leave:
- Route: Elbow River is near Victoria Park / Stampede CTrain station. Most of the other venues publish no transit details. See Without a car, and check routes and schedules with Calgary Transit.
- ID. Casinos in Alberta are for adults 18 and over. For any visitor who seems under 25, staff ask to see government-issued photo ID.
- A set budget and a set time. Decide both before you arrive. Leave when you reach either one. A clear end point is like a trail blaze: easier to follow when it was marked ahead of time.
